HELPING INJURED WORKERS OF NEVADA SINCE 1994
Attorney Jay Short comes from a farming family in the midwest. After serving in the United States Marine Corps as an enlisted man, he graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1987 and the University of Iowa College of Law in 1990. He moved to Nevada in 1990 to clerk for the Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court in Carson City. He worked for the State Public Defender’s Office in Winnemucca and Lovelock before he started the Workers Compensation Center in Reno in 1994.
Since 1994, Jay has represented hundreds of Nevada injured workers through the complex process of workers compensation claims. As a sole practitioner, doing only workers comp cases, he is closely involved in all stages of his clients’ cases from claim acceptance through final disability settlement and retraining services. At the Nevada Workers’ Compensation Center, work comp is all we do. We have decades of experience representing people who were injured at work.

OUR PRACTICE AREAS
WHY YOU NEED TO HIRE A WORKERS’ COMPENSATION ATTORNEY
The Workers’ Compensation system is designed and intended to compensate an injured worker while they are unable to perform their typical job duties. Work Comp benefits can cover medical bills, out-of-pocket expenses, and wages lost from being away from your job. However, the system now appears to favor insurance companies and business interests more than injured workers.
Insurance companies have legal teams representing their best interests, and you should too. The goal of the Nevada Work Comp Center and Attorney Jay Short is to provide injured workers with a legal team fighting to protect the workers’ rights to compensation after a work-related injury. Put our experience to you and get the compensation you deserve.
